BRADLEY HENSON

Partner
Bradley Henson was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Rochester, New York. He attended college at the University of Rochester and went on to receive his law degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law in Lexington, Virginia. 

After graduating, Brad served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Michael P. McWeeny and the Honorable Lorraine Nordlund of the Fairfax County Circuit Court. In that position, he became familiar with many areas of civil and criminal law as well as the complex procedures of the Circuit Court. 

Prior to forming Henson Pachuta, Brad was a trial attorney with the Office of the Public Defender for Fairfax County. He represented hundreds of clients charged with crimes ranging from reckless driving to burglary. Mr. Henson has also represented clients before the Virginia Court of Appeals and the Virginia Supreme Court. He and his wife live in Washington, D.C.

LYSANDRA PACHUTA

Partner
Lysandra Pachuta is originally from Pittsburgh and grew up in West Virginia. She attended college at Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and Business. She received her J.D., cum laude, from American University, Washington College of Law. 

Lysandra has focused her legal career on criminal defense. After graduating, she worked for the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia, where her practice focused on forensic science issues. Later, Lysandra was a trial attorney at the Office of the Public Defender for Fairfax. In that position, she represented hundreds of clients charged with a variety of crimes, from traffic offenses to first degree murder. 

Lysandra is experienced in representing clients at every stage of a case and has conducted dozens of trials. She is also proficient in Spanish, and lives in Reston with her husband and three children.

JACKIE BLISS KAMMERMAN

Partner
Jackie Bliss Kammerman obtained her J.D. from American University’s Washington College of Law and received her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley. 

From 2003 to 2009, she worked at the Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights (CAIR) Coalition in Washington D.C., serving as a Baker & McKenzie Equal Justice Works Fellow from 2007-2009. While at CAIR Coalition, she directly represented and mentored pro bono attorneys representing detained immigrants in removal proceedings. She also made regular visits to detention centers throughout Virginia and Maryland where she conducted Know Your Rights presentations. 

From 2009 to 2014, she practiced immigration law as an associate at Montagut & Sobral P.C. Jackie is experienced in all aspects of immigration law and specializes in removal defense and in analyzing the immigration consequences of criminal convictions. Jackie has served as faculty at a number of conferences for the American Immigration Lawyers Association and for local bar associations. She is a member of the California bar.

Shawna Stevens

Attorney
Shawna joined the team of Henson Pachuta & Kammermna, PLLC in October 2017. Here, she has pursued her love of litigation by focusing on removal defense at the Arlington and Baltimore Immigration Courts. 

Shawna’s practice centers on asylum, where she represents clients in their interviews before the asylum office and in their trials before an Immigration Judge. 

Shawna also handles cases for individuals who are in immigration cases, such as those in bond proceedings. She has also represented individuals pursuing cancellation of removal, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, U visas, and other matters before USCIS.

Shamia Watson

Attorney
Before joining Henson Pachuta & Kammerman, PLLC, Shamia R. Watson served as the senior immigration attorney for a Northern Virginia law firm, defending hundreds of individuals against deportation before Virginia and Maryland Immigration Courts. 

In addition, she represented families in applications before the United States Citizenship and Immigation Services (USCIS) and U.S. Consulates. Shamai’s practice focuses on removal defense. 

She represents handles matters including asylum, motions to reopen, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status petitions, and cancellation of removal.

Sara Alvarez

Sara is a paralegal at Henson Pachuta & Kammerman, PLLC. 

She is primarily responsible for work permit applications and renewals, FOIA requests, and other matters prior to USCIS. 

As the paralegal responsible for applications that are of incredible importance to our clients, Sara is instrumental in ensuring that these applications are handled correctly and efficiently.

Brianna Callahan

Brianna is the primary paralegal supporting the removal defense practice at Henson Pachuta & Kammerman, PLLC. 

She helps collect evidence, prepare applications, prepare court submissions, and draft statements in support of asylum and other removal defense cases.

Julissa Campos

Julissa is on the administrative team at Henson Pachuta & Kammerman, PLLC. 

She is one of two administrative assistants responsible for handling incoming calls, digital contacts, and taking payments. She manages the calendar and also assists with many of the behind the scenes administrative duties that help to ensure that the firm runs smoothly and efficiently. 

Yesenia is an excellent multitasker and has an eye for detail that make her essential to the firm.

A'idah Defilippo

A’idah is a paralegal at Henson Pachuta & Kammerman, PLLC, and a recent graduate of Georgetown University. 

She is the primary paralegal assigned to hardship waivers and other matters involving the preparation and presentation of equities. 

She works on cases before the Immigration Court as well as USCIS.

Jeannette Diaz

Jeannette is the managing paralegal at Henson Pachuta & Kammerman, PLLC. 

She is an experienced immigration paralegal and came to the firm with a wealth of knowledge in the field. She helps train and manage the paralegal team in all practice areas. 

In addition to her managerial responsibilities, she is the primary paralegal responsible for consular processing and applications before USCIS.

Jason Orellana

Jason is on the administrative team at Henson Pachuta & Kammerman, PLLC and is integral to the smooth functioning of the firm. He has worked his way up at the firm to a senior position. 

Jason is involved in client communication, file management, docketing, and ensures that filings with the government meet strict compliance standards.

Norma Palma

Norma is on the administrative team at Henson Pachuta & Kammerman, PLLC. 

She is responsible for file management and many of the behind the scenes administrative duties that help the firm run smoothly and efficiently. 

She is also the primary phone interpreter and works to digitize and distribute incoming mail.

Natalie Ramirez

Natalie is a paralegal at Henson Pachuta & Kammerman, PLLC. 

She handles a variety of matters, ranging from supporting the removal defense team to affirmative applications with USCIS. 

She works on family immigration petitions, asylum applications, and is the primary paralegal responsible for helping clients enter the Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project for asylum clients who are facing removal from the United States.

Jaqueline Silva

Jacqueline is a member of the administrative team at Henson Pachuta & Kammerman, PLLC. 

As the longest standing administrative employee, she has seen the firm grow firsthand and is familiar with all aspects of the administrative side of the office. 

Her primary role is to handle invoicing and billing.

Yesenia Washington

Yesenia is on the administrative team at Henson Pachuta & Kammerman, PLLC. 

Yesenia is one of two administrative assistants responsible for handling incoming calls, digital contacts, and taking payments. She is also responsible for managing the calendar and communicating with existing clients about ongoing cases. 

Yesenia is an excellent multitasker and calm communicator, both essential traits to the challenges of being the primary point of communication with clients at the firm.
